Hello! My name is Meredith Alden Lewis. I write indie comics, short stories, novels, fanfiction, powerpoint presentations, research papers, promotional copy, a bunch of stuff. But what I like the most— and what I've been particularly recognized and awarded for— is control of character voice and dialogue.

My writing philosophy and style is influenced by my experience with comics, as well as my background in the visual arts overall. A painting crawling with detail through every square inch can be too overwhelming for the viewer to take in. As creators, we want to reward exploration, but also guide the viewer's eye towards where we need it to go. The audience's energy isn't infinite, and neither is ours. A primary task of good writing is to know when the job is done, and get out of its own way.
